Version 1.2.2 update - lower battery cutoff & battery display

Hi folks! I hope you’re enjoying the rainy soundscape! I’m still using this app for several hours most days. It’s my default background sound for coding & web browsing. If you also listen for many hours at a stretch, this update brings a few small improvements to make long-term listening easier.

  • Added 15% battery threshold. By default, the app will fade the audio out and put the Playdate to sleep once the battery gets down to 30% remaining. You can change this threshold or disable it in the System Menu. However, 30% was the lowest setting… and I found that I’d like to be able to run longer but still leave a bit of battery, thus… 15%.
  • Added battery overlay. New menu option in the System Menu, disabled by default. When enabled, a narrow bar graph is shown over very right-hand side of the screen. I doubt this will be useful to most people, so I’ve left it disabled by default. However, I found that when running for a long time, I wanted to check the battery sometimes, and opening the System Menu to do so… pauses the audio. So, now there is an option to show it all the time. It’s very narrow, with no labels, to keep it subtle. Top of the screen is 100%, bottom is 0%.
  • Also updated the debug overlay to include battery info (voltage and percentage), and added a key combo (tap left while holding B) to toggle the debug view.
